What is bb cream for?

I bought some on a whim last week, mainly because it has SPF 20 in it and it said i can wear under my make up. (Or without make up)

Without make up it just looks like my normal face so i use my normal make up over the top but after a short while my face feels greasy and clogged and i really am just itching to scrub it all off. Without bb cream my make-up lasts most of the day before looking a bit patchy or shiny. The look i get when i use the bb cream under foundation is great initially, i really like it but it becomes shiny very quickly. Im not really keen to replace with a more expensive one as i was happy with my make up before it anyway but am just interested in what its actually supposed to do.

A Western BB cream is just a light coverage foundation/tinted moisturiser with SPF.

I just use BB creams on their own, instead of foundation or tinted moisturiser. I use SPF under as I am not sure I use enough of the BB cream to get the SPF advertised on the bottle.

As with any other product, not all BB creams suit everyone - so it might be that the one you have just isn't good with your skin type. And some just might not be very good at all.

Yes it could just be a bad match for my skin. So are they really just a tinted moisturiser with SPF then? I like quite a heavy make up look so the BB cream alone just doesnt do it for me. I might try some others and see what i think.

Try some of the Korean bb creams Surly completely different from western ones. Missha perfect cover gives me a full coverage.
