What foundation over suncream?

Does anyone have any recommendations for a product to wear on top of Ultrasun suncream on holiday for a month in an extremely hot country?

I find suncreams leave me looking white and chalkier than usual and would like something for a bit of colour and to even out my skintone.

Normal foundations tend to just slide off in the intense heat. I once had a sample of a strange product by By Terry which was great - I was never sure what it was, whether primer, serum or foundation (it was tinted heavily but spread beautifully and didn't slide off) but they don't seem to do it any more.

I used to use Estee Lauder Daywear BB cream on top of Clinique City Block - it would last all day and looked great.
Estee Lauder Double Wear Light for more coverage.

I haven't used it under a white suncream - the Clinique one doesn't make the skin look whiter or chalkier than normal.

They are usually pretty good at giving out samples of foundations, so it might be worth trying before you buy anything.

I use Clinique city block (factor 40 with a tint) then bare minerals original foundation on top and it stays on and looks fine all day. Not sure if it would work over your sun block but maybe put some on and pop into their shop for a test?

I'm in Italy: Asian BB creams are ace and relatively inexpensive (as are Asian sunscreens - no mess, no grease, no white cast). I discovered them on a trip to Hawaii when my mineral makeup and fluid sunscreen started sliding off my face and making a chalky mess. I use Dr Jart and Missha Perfect Cover and Signature. Revlon Colorstay is also budget-friendly and tropics-proof. I wore it for years when I lived in Brazil, but it is full coverage, so the finish is less dewy and a bit mask-like, more like EL Doublewear.

Used to live in the tropics. Cityblock and Laura Mercier tinted moisturiser was my perfect combo.

that's so helpful, many thanks everyone

Why don't you use some fake tan on your face to give it some colour before putting on a non chalky sunscreen? I can't imagine it would be very good for your skin or feel very nice to have sunscreen and foundation.
