What shape do you like your nails to be?

I usually file mine into rounded shapes but for the first time today have made them straighter/flatter at the tip. They're v short because they all broke recently and now need to grow. Not sure about the flat shape on me though. They look like boys nails

I see people with square shaped acrylics but I don't think my stumpy fingers will ever suit that shape natural or false.

i just cut mine short as i play guitar so long nails get in the way. plus i always feel hindered by long nails and constantly scared of snapping them. i just don't like them long if i'm honest

Mine never get long either and always break just as they start to look ok. I'd love long tapering fingers with strong nails.

flat shaped. Short stumpy fingers here too, flat lends very well to that type.

Depends how long they are - IF i manage to grow them well over the tips then I file them into an oval shape.
Usually they snap off quite short so square them off when filing.
Currently rocking both looks at the moment though - :)

Yes, squoval! That's what I was attempting. But they look a bit wrong . They do need to grow though, so they might look better longer.

I think once your nails suit your lifestyle and finger shape, you're laughing.

I have small hands, with smooth (no joint bones) fingers, and spatulate (spade like) tops on most of them. My nail beds are shortish, and quite flat, so my nails don't grow up to the tops of my finger before they have a free edge.

I file them into a flattish C , more square then oval, as it suits my finger shape. I use a gel polish in a pale colour mostly and forget about them.
I don't have a long nail lifestyle.

I had pointy acrylics put on once and they looked really odd on my fingers, didn't suit at all.

Very short, and a sort of rounded square. Always painted, but I don't like them long at all.

I don't like the fashion for talon/claw like nails.
Mine are as short as possible because I play piano and I think long nails are unhygienic anyway.
I do keep them painted though.

Like this. Apologies for very sausagey fingers. Long nails just dont suit me or my life style but I make sure that they are always shaped nicely and manicured.

Squoval here too. Love that word! Quite big, strong hands with long fingers - DH says people wince when I shake

I like my hands, they have good proportions - one of my best features.

I keep my nails short with a pale natural polish, sometimes a bit longer with the white just peeking over my fingertips but that's usually in the winter when gardening doesn't happen much.
Must keep the whites clean though, I'm quite particular and coconut oil my cuticles every night in bed after hand cream.
