What to wear for an interview?

Hi all,

Need a bit of guidance please! I've been in the same role for over 10 years, but I have an interview for a new job in a week and a half, and I'm thinking about what to wear for it. It's for a management role for a recruitment agency, and I really want to make an impression.

I have suits, smart dresses etc, but I can't decide what would be the best thing to go with, so I'd love some opinions! I'm early 30's, size 12 and tall if that helps?

I have a well stocked work wardrobe with all the basics, but I don't mind spending a bit of money on something new either if anyone wants to make any suggestions?

Appreciate any advice or input!

Different field, but I'd go for neutrals with maybe a brighter blouse, but not too distracting.

Try what you have on and see what makes you feel empowered and confident. That are the attitudes you want to convey.

If none do the trick, then hit the shops.

A suit is always more impressive than a dress I think. I would go for something timeless and elegant for an interview, rather than up to the minute fashionable. I work in the law, though, we are very conservative as a profession!

Spend the money on grooming - suit cleaned, hair cut, eyebrows shaped - if you have a good wardrobe already.

I've been offered two jobs this month with the NHS and local council, for both interviews I wore a black pencil dress, black pointed flats and a grey blazer.
Good luck with your interview!

I'm tall and size 10. My successful interview outfit was black Gap slim cropped trousers, black loose silky 't-shirt' with off white spots, pale grey jersey blazer, pale grey kitten heel court shoes. Deep pinky plum nails and lipstick to brighten it up a bit. Hair recently cut, freshly washed and styled, eyebrows groomed and whatever make up you usually wear. Plenty of time taken over getting ready will stop you worrying what you look like and help you to relax and focus on the important stuff.
Job was a management role in IT. First time I've not worn a suit for an interview, I think things have become less formal in many professions. None of the four people who interviewed me wore suits, neither the man nor the women..

That sounds like a great outfit. Where was the top from? I was thinking black cigarette pants?
