How to style this dress?

I had a thread asking for dress ideas for my hen do a few weeks ago. Anyway, I finally bought this dress (please forgive awful picture!!) which I am going to wear. But how to style it, I quite like the shoes I'm wearing in the picture but don't know if they work with the dress? And does it need a necklace/earrings? And finally, hair up or down and make up ideas?

Am not adverse to any ideas, I'm happy to go glam and usually dress quite glam but with a boho/vintage vibe.

Also, I'm on a tight budget!

  1. Lovely dress
  1. Shoes in pic don't work, too bulky. Metallic flats or heels (I got some for £4 from Primark) something quite strappy or"light" in construction to show a bit of your foot
  1. Big statement necklace or big scarf/pashmina in light colour similar to those of the shoes you choose (again, can go cheap)
  1. Hair down

I'll take a look in primark thanks! Will have to be heels else I will look short and stumpy, and don't think a scarf or pashmina would work as I will be clubbing!

Something like these? Would they work?

Anyone else have any shoe ideas? I'm really lacking inspiration!

I think the dress would work better with black opaques and black shoes. Sorry but I really, really don't like those Primark ones you've just posted.

Black tights and something like this could work, although it's quite a wintry look. I guess it depends what the weather is likely to be like, and where you're going.

The ones I've posted are expensive, but there should be lots of similar styles around.

To be honest I wasn't a massive fan f them either but couldn't find anything else that seemed any good.

I don't like those whistles ones to be honest, and would be more likely to wear them as a daytime shoe. I don't really want to wear tights either Hmm

God I never thought a plain pink dress would be so hard to style!

The dress is lovely. The black shoes are too bulky and I'm not keen on the blush ones either.

I'd go for a nude scrappy barely there sandal and a little fake tan on your legs. For hair I'd leave it down but have a volume curl or wave in it and make your eyes pop with a nice smokey eye.

RightSideOfWrong · 23/05/2015 18:16

I'm with makingdoo. A very scrappy heel, no tights, loose hair.

makingdoo · 23/05/2015 18:26

*strappy heel!

Lj8893 · 23/05/2015 18:28

Lovely, thank you! I will look for some strappy shoes, and sort my feet out Grin

Ooo they are nice thankyou!

It's from Primark and was a bargain at £5!

My paste function won't work for some reason but if you look up D'Orsay on next, they're great silver shoes which look even better in RL.

Lj8893 · 23/05/2015 19:34

They come up as navy?

Araisaris · 23/05/2015 19:39

Sorry, my iPad won't let me paste at the moment. Try searching Asymmetric D’orsay Point, they're in pink or silver.

VixxFace · 23/05/2015 20:22

Wearing tights raving is a no no.

Lj8893 · 23/05/2015 20:26

They are lovely, just not me at all. A little too "grown up" I think Grin
