Nursing bra intervention help please

I'm after a bit of help from one of the bra intervention ladies please.

My measurement is 35" round my ribcage and 44" round my bust at its fullest (bent over). Im guessing that makes me a 34GG or 36G, am I right?

I've got my eye on this bra, the Anita 5068, because I want something nude coloured and underwired. But the sizes available don't have any double letters, does that mean it misses them out of the bra alphabet entirely? What size should I try in this bra?

I feel like I need a degree to wade through all the misinformation and differing options that are out there!

You're right re sizing -I'd normally suggest trying a 34G/GG or a 36FF/G with your measurements. Anita, as far as I know, skip letters but not sizes so you have to count up through their sizes (I'd probably start with B as 2 though). So you'd be looking for roughly the 9th or 10th size they do.

Freya have brought out an underwired feeding bra called the Pure which I've heard good things about here and the sizing is standard UK. Freya are normally softish in the band so I'd suggest the 34 probably

If you own a well fitting wired bra, you could convert it to a drop cup. I promise it's very easy and kits are about £5 on eBay. Perfectly safe as long as the bra fits.

Thanks both. I've ordered that Anita in a 36I, will see how I get on with it when it arrives.

I was just coming on to ask the same question - I am also looking for a nursing bra that fits. 32 round the chest, 42 at fullest bent over - does this mean 32G?
Any tips on where best to get one?

Thanks!

StatisticallyChallenged · 23/05/2015 12:56

probably 32GG to start with. As above I've been hearing lots of good things about the Freya Pure. Ewa Michalak (polish company) also make some good wired nursing bras. Bravissimo sell several non wired (I'm not sure if they've got the pure in yet but I believe they will stock it)

I literally have just started to wear the Anita bra today! After months of looking i ordered it and it's so comfy! I'm only 31 weeks but as a 44d nothing non wired was comfortable and the normal underwired dug in. I got this one:

Free postage but have to pay for returns.

Thanks Statistically! I am going to head to Bravissimo this afternoon, armed with this info. I have been wearing all sorts of sizes - none of them right...

Nicolaw78 · 23/05/2015 14:27

Hi All, sorry for piggybacking on your post but for ages I've had really uncomfortable bras, I'm breastfeeding at the mo and can only wear the highly unsupportive comfort bras they sell in asda. I'm sure these will do nothing good for my boobs!
I was measured in mothercare and she told me I was a 38dd. My measurements are 33" under bust and 43" over bust leant forward. Is this correct?
Thank you!

StatisticallyChallenged · 23/05/2015 14:43

Nope more like 32gg/h or 34g/gg. Mothercare are terrible at fitting

SpottyTeacakes · 23/05/2015 14:46

Panache do fabulous maternity bras as recommended by the bra gurus on here! They were the only ones to fit me properly and to come in a small enough back size.

Nicolaw78 · 23/05/2015 15:08

Thank you!
Hopefully I can find a bra that actually fits and get some support for the first time in about a year!

Chchchchanging · 23/05/2015 22:23

Only decent bigger boob nursing bras are bravado tshirt bra- size up and they're duel sized... I ended up with/I

Also soft cup, panache Sophie

bumpertobumper · 24/05/2015 19:06

Just to update - I am the proud owner of a panache 32FF (replacing a 36D which obvs doesn't sit right) from bravissimo, very pretty and comfy it is too
Thanks!!
