What shoes should I wear with this dress?

We've been invited to a swanky garden party in July for dh's bosses birthday.

I bought this dress last year and have never worn it.

I think something like bright yellow or pink might go as it's got the 80s feel. But as I'm going to be standing all afternoon and probably on grass I suspect a low heel and wedges will be more practical. I'm not sure if it's a 'wedges' type dress tho.

I don't wear black.

Any suggestions gratefully received. :)

Strawberry Plaited Wedge Sandal

Product Code: JO325CM - Simply B

Thanks. The colour is nice and I like the sandals, but the cork really wouldn't go with the dress - far too 70s. It needs something sharper and sleeker. More 80s.

Perhaps a blockier heel would be better than a wedge.

I think I'll avoid blue too and go for a contrast. I seem to have my heart set on bright yellow for some reason.

Sorry - very fussy!

Yellow block heel

Love that dress btw! Grin

Oh yes, they are nice. Possibly a bit high for standing around all day. We will have some train and tube travel too so I think I will go in flats and change before we arrive.

White and silver?
White and Yellow? - too high?
Yellow wedges - though I think too fussy?
Yellow - very limited sizes and not that summery
Yellow - too high?
Yellow - maybe too neon/on the lime side
Yellow
Any of those work?

Oh thank you. They are all nice but the full shoe a bit wintery and the cork wedge just not the same style. The second kg pair are my favourite but they only have them in a size 3 and I am a size 7/8 :(

That's the kind of thing tho (the first kg pair were my total faves but I would end up on my arse - I'm a bit too old for shoes that high now). Perhaps a white block sandal would be easier to source.

I just held a bright red patent full shoe up to the dress and it looked pretty nice too. So I might cast my net wider for red sandals too.

I don't know why but I'm thinking high 80s fashion for the look. I'm also fancying a bright clutch bag. I think bright yellow, red and even green would go with the dress.

I shan't be embracing the big hair tho. Grin

I think any strong colour would go really!

Clarks have quite a good selection of block heels in a range of heights.

Otherwise if it was the Paige KG ones you liked Debenhems have them (I think, the website isn't really working for me!)
