How do I exchange these M&S trousers?

Bought some trousers in M&S the other day without time to try on ... got them home and they were the wrong size.

I want to exchange them for a pair that fit but don't want to go back to the shop (45 minute round trip) and find that they aren't in stock in the right size!

Wwyd? Is it a click and collect job? Do I have to pay when I order and then get a refund in store when I take the pair that don't fit back?

I NEVER shop for clothes online ... hence ignorant questions Grin

Just order for delivery and take the wrong ones back at your convenience. It does mean you are out of pocket till you get the refund!

Why not just give the store a call? They will be able to put the size you want to one side behind the till if you ask.

Tiptops - of course I called the store. After waiting for about 15 minutes, they told me they didn't have the size I wanted in stock.

Hence my question to Mumsnet!

I have ordered a pair click and collect. Took a while, mind you. The M&S website is a shocker.

I had this happen. M&s refund very quickly. Refund was credited to my a/c the next working day.

As an aside I'm also impressed with the click and collect service.
