I'm almost 37 and looked at my sister like this > Hmm when she recently suggested I try one on.

burnishedsilver · 18/05/2015 23:40

Jumpsuit - yes.
Denim jumpsuit - I have my doubts.

TigerFeat · 18/05/2015 23:52

I am 45 and own 3 jumpsuits.

None of them are denim though, sorry.

I love them on, they're very flattering and easy to wear, but an absolute pita when it comes to going the loo. Especially after a few glasses of wine Grin

DrElizabethPlimpton · 19/05/2015 00:06

No no no. Even if you are 6' tall with a super model figure it is going to be v hard to pull off.
It is a basically double denim onesie.

Sorry.

Shonajay · 19/05/2015 00:18

Yes, but beware camel toe. I've just bough two for my hols and I'm 48.

Whatamayday · 19/05/2015 06:08

I have ten years on you and recently bought a black one but had a sudden change of heart and took it back on the last day I could get a refund.

It was ok but not flattering on the backside. I quite like the multi-coloured ones young people wear but not for me. Not sure about a denim one.

fredabear · 19/05/2015 06:57

I have a couple for my summer hols when I will be 45 and find them very flattering, but they are dressy and sleeveless, wide legged. Dreading the loo trips though.

BeginnerSAHM · 19/05/2015 07:31

Wore one to my 40th birthday party. Black with heels and quite 'flowy' though... Denim would be tough unless you are very trendy generally?! Likewise, I love the look of dungarees but just don't think I could pull them off. Might have had a chance in my 20s. (Then again, would probably have looked silly then too!)

homebythesea · 19/05/2015 07:36

I wear a gorgeous stretch Jersey jumpsuit, all drapey and sleeveless, lovely with heels or flats comfy as hell and stylish. Denim not so much- I tried one and it was far too mechanic for my liking

So yes to jumpsuits but in a softer fabric

If you want to see how the denim/khaki type look on real forty somethings look at the doesmybumlook40 and allwornoutblog blogs

juneau · 19/05/2015 07:39

Something like this: www.meandem.com/jumpsuits Yes!

Denim? Noooooooooooo!

Becles · 19/05/2015 07:45

Nay, nay and thrice nay Shock

homebythesea · 19/05/2015 08:00

Juneau- mine is like the first MeandEm one! Cost a fraction of that in Matalan mind ??

FrugalFashionista · 19/05/2015 08:22

I bought a lyocell chambray jumpsuit last summer (like denim but lighter) and have worn it a lot. I'm a pale blonde so denim is my thing, I love anything chambray. Wouldn't go near dungarees but this really works. Oh and my vintage is 1973 Wink

Floisme · 19/05/2015 08:34

I think the issues are that they magnify your arse x 10 and can look great from the front but seriously dodgy from the back. The only age related factor is that you may need to pee more often.

macnab · 19/05/2015 10:20

I'm 40 and love jumpsuits, but only classy tailored ones for a night out. I'd never consider wearing one during the day and definitely not a denim one. I'd buy what you've described for my 4 yr old DD. Sorry!

carrie74 · 19/05/2015 13:12

I know they're the thing at the moment, but I just can't get with the programme. I think getting the fit can be tricky (camel toe in particular), I really like things to be tight over my bum Blush, and I have a terrible childhood memory of not being able to get out of my onesie playsuit quick enough to get to the loo without an accident Blush Blush.

Bambina74 · 19/05/2015 20:07

Thanks for the advice, I guess it's a no to the denim ?? I appreciate you all being straight with me save me making a big mistake ??
