Stripy foot tan already - how can I avoid the zebra look?

My feet tan ridiculously easily and after 2-3 days of wearing my two-strap Birkenstocks my feet are delightfully stripy. Hmm

My skin holds onto tan lines for months (even years) and last summer I accepted the inevitable, wore my Birks, and had really badly stripy feet all summer, this year I'd rather avoid a repeat. I looked bloody ridiculous every time I wore other shoes/sandals.

I tried SPF 50, it didn't seem to help - is there anything else I can do to stop the stripes, or are all my sandals destined for the bin? Reeaaaally don't want a whole summer of flip flops....

Could you fake tan the stripes?

Noooooooooooooooooooo! ??
You mean there isn't a magic cure for zebra feet?? How does everyone else seem to avoid it? I'm sure everyone who took the piss out of my stripy feet last summer had single-tone feet!

Don't wear the same shoes every day...
