Would you wear one, Carrie Bradshaw style? I'm tempted. Always ready to up the school run style tongue firmly in cheek

I love tulle skirts! It's difficult to get one that doesn't look like you're trying to channel your inner ballerina, but if you can find one that's not too full, and preferably not baby pink, they can look stunning.

Athrawes · 18/05/2015 11:20

How old is too old? I would love one but as a size 14, 5 foot six, 44 year old teacher....

OttiliaVonBCup · 18/05/2015 11:24

Are you on a bus route where you can might splashed?
In that case wellies.

Or you can have your trainers on for the casual going to gym look.\

Otherwise birkies.

Also, red lippie, no other makeup.

Athrawes · 18/05/2015 11:42

Any recommendations where to shOp?

StrawberrytallCake · 18/05/2015 11:47

My first love - tulle skirts.

asos have a few good ones.

My favourite one was from camden market in the electric ballroom but that was about 10 years ago! A wheels & doll baby pink one..ahhh....and my best now is a D&G green tulle skirt which I tend to wear with black body or top and leather jacket, I find denim can look a bit 'grease', definitely minimal make-up, I like wearing them with ballerina flats but that's because I'm quite tall, going out with DH I wear them with heels.

EuphemiaCoxton · 18/05/2015 11:53

I wear mine with biker boots and big grungy cardigans.
Love it.

Lovewearingjeans · 18/05/2015 14:00

So pleased there are other tulle skirt lovers out there. Thinking biker boots. Not sure what colour to get yet.

that long on on the asos website is BEAUITFUL ( on her - would look shit with my hips)

Coastingit · 18/05/2015 14:31

I just can't imagine a situation where I'd feel right wearing one. Or seeing someone else wearing one.

StrawberrytallCake · 18/05/2015 14:50

Take your tulle hating elsewhere.

Mmm biker boots. Have i missed a daytime tulle opportunity? Have either of you got a link to some appropriate biker boots? (Sorry for hijack)

Floisme · 18/05/2015 14:52

I haven't got one but if I saw one in dark grey, I'd be tempted. I like them really dressed down e.g. with plimsolls or biker boots plus T or sweatshirt.

Floisme · 18/05/2015 15:15

Sorry cross post. I've got some biker-ish boots from Carvela (well TK Maxx actually) that I've worn to death. I've had them a couple of years so can't find a link but they're flat, dark grey, calf length with a couple of (non functional) straps.

PetiteBateau · 18/05/2015 17:03

I've got an emerald green one, I love it. I like wearing it with a fitted navy tee shirt with elbow length sleeves, tee shirt tucked in

PetiteBateau · 18/05/2015 17:04

Bought it in Amsterdam about 8 years ago

BadgersArse · 18/05/2015 17:38

it has to be REALLY fine tulle to be nice imo

not sticky out like a hen night one

Itsalldramarama · 18/05/2015 18:30

Ooo flash from the past ' in my younger days I used to wear a tutu , basque, biker jacket , holey fish nets and 14 hole DMs ! Totally rocked it ..,,, wouldn't work now at 48 ..,, although a parred down version as other posts say does sound nice if I was 10 ( ok then 20 !) years younger ;)

Floisme · 18/05/2015 18:42

Well I'm 10 years older than that and if I could find the right one, I'd wear it... not pink or tutu length though and not with a basque Grin but ankle length (I have vair nice ankles) and in dark grey with, everything else very plain and simple. Dammit I want one now!

Itsalldramarama · 18/05/2015 18:46

Dark grey ankle length with a pale grey cashmere cardigan and silk cami ... Can picture it now ... Biker boots optional ;)

Floisme · 18/05/2015 19:57

Ooh yes, grey cashmere, fitted, round neck, buttoned up - kind of Margot-Fonteyn-at-the-office. Now I really, really do want one. Damn you all Grin

CalamitouslyWrong · 18/05/2015 20:00

I love tulle skirts. I keep meaning to buy one but never get round to it.

Siolence · 18/05/2015 20:19

elsiesattic.co.uk/product-category/clothing/skirts/petticoats-and-tutus/

Tulle skirts a go go.

I love them but at 5'8" with a distinct set of hips feel they are not for me. Sad

thefifthpanda · 18/05/2015 20:25

Margot-Fonteyn-at-the-office Much Grin

Athrawes · 19/05/2015 08:02

I rather want a draped floatey one rather than a sticky out tutu stye. There are lots of etsy from makers in China but it is hard to get a sense of scale from pictures of tiny doll like ladies.

StrawberrytallCake · 19/05/2015 08:29

boohoo.com she is swishing in the picture but the skirt is more flat in the others, Athrawes?
