Don't know where to get alternative but I have tried the boden swimwear and given up, the straps are flimsy and seem to go ping eventually. And i'm not even that big breasted!

dailyfix · 18/05/2015 15:40

I've got a tankini. It doesn't offer much support & looks like a droopy vest and pants when it's wet.

GoingHomeNow · 18/05/2015 17:37

Those 't-shirt things' are called rash vests. If you search around you might find cheaper ones elsewhere.

farmerslife · 18/05/2015 18:43

Thanks ladies think I had a lucky escape from being disappointed ! I have looked at lots of rash vests but unfortunately boobage and size mean there are very few others that would fit.

Oh God I wear a bikini top under my rash vest! Great for keeping sunburn at bay, but my preference is a bit of support!

Maybe look at it on the basis that you'll have it for years? I got a rash vest probably 10 years ago (a surfy brand) just because I burn so easily. I hadn't worn it for years but its still good as new now. I'm back wearing it now that I cant keep in the shade as much as I'd like to when splashing about with the DC.

M&S stuff lasts longer than Boden IMO...and doesn't hold you in much at all. I had a nice tankini from next once was a good few years ago though.

archaeoptyrx · 18/05/2015 21:24

Just to go against the tide, I've got a Boden bikini that I got very, very cheapily and I love it! Great quality, washes well and still looks good and came in it's own little bag!

whataboutbob · 19/05/2015 08:59

If you are near a TKMAXX they usually have a big range of swimwear, some of them quite expensive brands with heavy discounts (seafolly, Gotex and also speedo, zoggs etc) and they have a good selection of larger sizes.

farmerslife · 19/05/2015 11:12

Oh that's a good idea never ever think of going there but there is a big one just down the road x

I've just bought two tankinis from bravissimo. They've got built in bras and they offer incredible support. I'm a 32g.

Jerseyknit · 19/05/2015 11:15

I wouldn't bother with anything that isn't specially made for us bustier ladies. I paid £125.00 for my two tankinis but I know they'll make me feel good and they're vomfortable and good quality. I'll have them for years.

farmerslife · 19/05/2015 12:13

Thanks will have a look at bravissimo does the quality seem good x

I buy swimwear abroad, so worth looking at American brands - Old Navy, Gap, J Crew (although this will almost certainly NOT be cheaper than Boden!). Decathlon do fantastically priced rash guards, but quite boring colours.

carrie74 · 19/05/2015 14:24

Looks like quite a lot of choice in Old Navy, and I think they ship to the UK now:

ZaZathecat · 19/05/2015 14:24

I just posted a Boden promo if that helps!

turkeyboots · 19/05/2015 14:25

Lands End do loads of rash tops too, in nicer colours and patterns than Boden. And the body length is longer, which is much better for me.

farmerslife · 19/05/2015 18:38

Thank you everyone x
