What size bra should my mother wear? Please help me help her!

My mother has not worn a bra that fits properly since the 1960s. Could one of the 'bra gurus' help me figure out her correct size?

Her back would be eternally grateful!

She measures 94 cm under the bust and 125 cm over the bust when she bends over.

Thanks in advance,

so that's 37 inches and 49 inches? that's around 36HH/38H territory

If she hasn't worn a bra that fits her properly since the 1960s Id suggest she goes to somewhere like M&s and gets measured properly. They would then let her try stuff on to ensure its a correct fit :)

DamsonInDistress · 17/05/2015 20:50

Nooooooo! Keep her the hell away from M&S, they still do the adding four rubbish and their bras themselves are not up to much either! Try Bravissimo and indulge her for a day.

dementedpixie · 17/05/2015 20:52

She's probably been fitted by m&s and that's why her bras don't fit!

britishbakeoffblues · 17/05/2015 20:53

I'm only a 32/34D and M&S bras don't give me ANY support.
With a HH, you really need to be fitted properly by well trained people. Don't touch M&S!! I doubt they would have HH size anyway.

Just to echo the universal cry of NOOOOOO to M&S fitting. They're absolutely awful. Went in to test them wearing a well fitting 30hh. They tried to put me in a 36f. Erm. No.

Fairylea · 17/05/2015 21:51

No no no don't go to marks and spencers!!! Just awful. Awful fittings, awful bras.

Go to bravissimo.

LadyB49 · 17/05/2015 22:39

I am a 36hh/38h the same as mum and have been fitted perfectly by Bravissimo. Noooooooo to m & s !!!!

Wenglish · 18/05/2015 10:57

Step away from M&S!

polyhymnia · 18/05/2015 11:26

Could you perhaps treat her to a fitting at Rigby and Peller - they always get size right and are used to catering for every age and size.

woodhill · 18/05/2015 11:31

what about .john Lewis or Debenhams, always good imo

pinkfrocks · 18/05/2015 13:23

I 2nd Bravissimo. My mum is late 80s and recently went for a fitting (I wasn't with her) and came away with a 32F although she feels more comfortable in a 34E/ EE.

She's been wearing 34 or 36 backs and not enough support.

R&P are great too but depends on budget.
