Question about returning a Longchamps bag

Bought yesterday but now not sure - bought in their Bond St store.
Receipt says can exchange within 28 days- then adds that personalised bags cannot be refunded or exchanged.

It's not personalised. But do they refund or just exchange?

Just call the store and ask.
There are some shops that don't do refunds (unless there is something wrong with the goods) because they have no legal obligation to do so.

I will- but they are closed now and was hoping some kind MN might put me out of my misery!
The receipt is unclear- exchanges and exchanges/ refunds it says.

I assume they refund as their website says you can return to a refund.

Yes, sorry, I know what you mean... Once youl change your mind about something it starts to really bug you...

A lot
Of high end shops don't refund . Just exchange .. This is why I buy things like this from chain stores rather than the actual shop.. Can you google it?

They'll be obliged to accept returns for online sales due to distance selling regulations but that doesn't mean they'll do the same for things bought in a bricks and mortar store where the same legislation does not apply as you can inspect the goods prior to purchase.

Have you gone off the bag altogether or would exchanging colour be enough? Even though they are a bit of a cliche I think it'll be good for holidays.

Thanks everyone. It's not le Pliage- it's a leather across the body bag and was £200-ish. I like it, but I've also seen some other bags- Fossil- that may be better for what I need (I think the Longchamp may be a bit big.)

I have read their website- but it's the French version, and it seems ambiguous. It talks about not being able to get are fund for bags 'collected from shops' ( ie if you order online and pick up from a store? Or is that the French way of saying no refunds for anything bought in a store) whereas yes they will refund if bought by mail order.

I didn't buy from anywhere else online because it wasn't in stock. If JL or Selfridges etc did it, I'd have bought from them.

The update is that having phoned them, they say they do offer refunds within 28 days with the original receipt.
I hope this is so before I traipse all the way there!
