I'm looking for a couple of light cardigans/jumpers that are good for layering in this unpredictable weather. Anyone bought any recently? Long and short cardis?

Look at Woolovers.

They do a nice silk/cotton knit which is lightweight. All sorts of colours and styles, great value. Just try and see past the frumptastic website.

Look at the knitwear section on the Zara website - they have loads..
