Holy Grail - plain white t shirt?

I love having a few a plain, white round neck, fitted, cap sleeve t shirts in my wardrobe but increasingly am finding the fabric thin, verging on see through. I do wear a nude bra underneath but still find them all a bit too thin.

Where are the best places to buy quality, not too pricey, decent length, non-see through white tees from?

Gap. Mine are almost 10 years old but have retained its shape. Not sure about their recent white tee offerings but my round neck and v- neck versions are thick enough not to show even a black bra through

I looked at Gap and Old Navy recently and found them a little thin, as in, I'd prefer to wear a white vest top underneath them to preserve modesty! However, it may just have been the particular ones I was looking at.

Watching with interest as gap have got very thin in recent years

I think there was an article in something like.....Good Housekeeping/older magazine about best white t shirts recently.Muji came out top! Best I've found are White Company and Land's end.Both vary from year to year however.
