Distressing a leather bag - any tips?

I have a lovely, new dark leather satchel-type bag but it just looks too shiny and new.

Is there anything I can do to age it a bit, without totally wrecking it? Google suggests rubbing alcohol on, using sandpaper and whacking it with a baseball bat or perhaps putting it through a wash.

Does anyone have any experience of this they can share?
TIA.

just use it. i can distress a leather bag in one outing. no idea how i do it, it just happens. Grin

you could try massaging it a bit, er maybe?

Yep, using it will do the trick ... Grin It normally works for my other stuff. This particular bag seems to be bloody indestructible though. Have beaten it with a rolling pin and put it through a wash, and it looks new Shock Shock
