Is 5 months too long to return Next shoes ordered online?

Next patent black croc office loafers

Bought above back in January this year for new job never did wear them in the end.
They're still in store and I have the original online order paperwork.

I can't find anything on their website that puts a time limit on returns.
It's a 45 minute bus ride to my nearest store and smallprint says you can't refund or exchange an online order in a store anyway.

Does anyone have experience of this scenario? They're sitting at home and are wasted on me!

I'm pretty sure I read with Next that it is 14 days return, although could be wrong.

Wrt returning to store, I always order online and frequently return to store. I have never had any issues. They process the return and it goes back onto your account/card in a few days.

I'd give it a go and if not, stick them on eBay.

Ebay's not an option.

Would anyone on this board be interested before I send them to charity shop?

I wouldn't charity shop them just yet. Return to store or by post. Even if they won't refund you (they probably won't) you will probably get your account credited.

I always return online orders in store, never returned via post. our next always puts the balance onto a gift card. I've actually returned a handbag almost 18 months later Blush , tags on, no receipt though, and it was selling at next outlet for £18 I think so that's all they could give me back, but at least it was something

8 day returns on directory orders. Though if you ring them they may over look it and allow you to send them back. I wouldn't take them back to a store though as they'll have the same 8 day return policy.

Where did you read that you can't refund online orders in store? I always take my refunds into store; in fact, I don't think I've ever posted them back. The paperwork says 14 days, but I've definitely overshot that.

In fact, I've always found Next to be pretty flexible returns-wise. I took something back to store recently which I had bought online and lost the receipt, and they happily gave me a refund (apparently they can tell who bought the item just from scanning the shop tag). And once I took six items back, and was only credited with five of them but didn't notice until I got home; they without questioning immediately corrected the refund.

What I'm trying to say is - it's worth a try.
