Decent quality high-waisted skinnies..?

First time posting on this board.

I'm a petite pear (5'2, 8ish stone), and have been buying Primark's size 8 high-waisted skinnies (NOT their 'super-high' ones): these fit my shape and size well (though they're too long), but the material is very thin, and they go baggy very quickly, and the colour fades badly also.

As they only cost £13, I don't mind (too much) replacing them every six months or so, but I'm wondering if anyone knows of a similar style in a thicker denim that will stand up to washing a bit better? My waist is pretty small compared to my hips, and I find it quite difficult to find cuts that cater for both.

Thanks! Thanks

Forgot to say - would rather not pay more than £40ish!

Top shop have good ones as do new look.

doublepotions · 12/05/2015 13:40

Topshop Jamie jeans , you buy them by waist and leg measurement so you can get the perfect fit, they also come in petite.

Sainsburys

I really rate H&M, they're £30, thick denim, come in various lengths etc, and crucially don't have stretch in so keep shape brilliantly.

Greymalkin · 12/05/2015 16:09

I saw some this week in new look, £20 iirc

SleeplessSeattle · 12/05/2015 16:12

Asos do amazing high waisted skinnies! Around £22 I think and I've just bought them in 2 more colours as they are so good

mrssnodge · 12/05/2015 16:47

new look super skinny high waisted ones are good, not very thick material though , but they dont go baggy, dont fall down and are super comfy and hold my muffin top in perfect!

AnitaPooh · 12/05/2015 17:22

Next do a 'Waist Enhancer" skinny pair that are high waisted and are lovely - they are £40 I think.

plentyofshoes · 12/05/2015 17:51

I like Gap. However I agree with the Next waist enhancer ones best yet.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 12/05/2015 18:21

Has anybody had the Next ones in black? How are they re fading?

FrugalFashionista · 12/05/2015 18:29

Wearing a H&M pair right now, as good as any premium denim pair.

skylerwhite1 · 12/05/2015 20:14

I have the Next black ones RemusL. and they have faded after one wash! they have taken on a navy hue around the waist band/pockets. Not happy about this Angry

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 12/05/2015 20:19

That's awful! I'd take them back, I think.

CSLewis · 12/05/2015 20:51

Had a look at the h&m ones - will they suit a pear-shape? My waist is a lot more 'in' than my hips, and a lot of jeans just end up gaping at the back/sides.

(The Primark ones are actually cut very well in this regard.)

I like the shape of the Asos ones; are they decent thick denim, does anyone know?

I'm petite and top shop Joni fit me perfect and they don't go baggy

NameChange30 · 12/05/2015 23:54

I'm a pear/hourglass with a small waist compared to my hips, bum and thighs, and I swear by Gap jeans. They are somehow flattering even on my figure (several sizes bigger than you!) I just bought the "girlfriend" jeans which I love - not high waisted though. Pretty sure they will do high waisted skinnies.

NameChange30 · 12/05/2015 23:55

PS Gap also do short leg lengths and in-between sizes (28, 29, 30, etc) so you should be able to get a good fit.

SleeplessSeattle · 15/05/2015 16:00

CS they're thick but very stretchy if that makes sense. So definitely Jeans as opposed to jeggings but not stiff
