Curling my very straight hair?

Ladies

Has anybody got any advice on which curling iron / wand / other implement is best for curling hair? My hair is roughly shoulder length, fine and very straight. I'd love to know how to make it look like this:

I have very thick poker straight hair & I curl / wave it using my ghd's

Thanks - unfortunately I dont own any straighteners. I was thinking about something like this?

That looks like it might give corkscrew curls ?? but I've only ever used medium ceramic straighteners ( & never for straightening) & they're really versatile - sometimes I have waves, sometimes curls

eeek. I had no idea there are different types of curl... I've never owned a pair of straighteners - what type do I need to create curls? is it hard to do?

It's easy, I've used ghd's for years but there are loads of other brands

Don't forget heated rollers - a bit old fashioned, but still available, very effective and easier to use than wands.

Will your hair take a curl? Mine is straight and fine and will not curl no matter what. I have ghds ( a gift) which i use to bob under and heated rollers which with lots of product and leaving for ages to really cool will do me a full bodied wavy ish do, tbh I use it more for volume shape and texture.

My advice try before you buy. Go to a hairdressers and get then to do you a curly style and see how long it stats in. Most places use ghds or equivalent.

It actually curls quite well when I have tried in the past. We shall see..

Thanks for all your tips. I shall take to youtube for a tutorial or two on curling using straighteners.

Babyliss curl perfector. Try it.

Good old fashioned rag-curling might be worth a shot. And free.

Any decent narrow straighteners are best for getting natural curls and very versatile for different levels of wavy.
