Eye lotion advice needed.

Having now turned 40 I'm wondering whether I should invest in an eye lotion or are tha gimmick as my moisturiser will do? If I do need a separate one, any recommendations?

Your moisturiser may be too heavy for the delicate area around your eye. What sort of budget are you looking at?

A maximum of £30 but only if it's necessary. Over the years I've wasted so much on products believing the hype only for it to be rubbish which is why I'm reluctant to shell out if it isn't really necessary, iykwim!

I'm a big big fan of the L'Oreal Revitalift one. I know it's not a trendy niche boutique brand, but for me it does the job. It's around a tenner I think, often on offer.

I think eye creams are a big con personally, just use your normal cream with a light hand around your eye area.

I find the opposite is true - most eye creams are too rich for my eye area and give me milia (3 of the 4 I have tried have done this, and one bobbled up my eye makeup). Normal moisturizers work better for me, but are they hydrating enough for you?

See this is the problem, the skin round my eyes looks and feels hydrated but I'm starting to notice s few lines. Now if a cream can help reduce/stop them great but I don't want to waste money again on some "miracle " product.

I use the revitalift moisturiser and did notice an improvement on my skin from the expensive brands I used over the years.

Superdrug do some lovely ones and are on offer for 50% off at the moment - I bought one in a a white tube called 'B Vitalised' for £5. Honestly, it is better than the Origins Ginzing one I have that cost £20.

A few years ago Which did a survey on eye cream and the one which 'performed' the best turned out tone the control cream which was Simple Rich Moisturising Lotion! It got higher ratings than the expensive eye creams. Plus you can but it in the travel size which is ideal if you're only using it as an eye cream.

But it?! Buy it! Sorry, I'm on my phone!

Should say, if you want a proper eye cream, I like Clinique All About Eyes, or Liz Earle Daily Eye Repair.
