I'm 44, 5'8 and curvy, bottom heavy size 14. I seem to wear nothing but jeans or work dresses. I like the idea of harem trousers, but would they look ok on me? I'm rather flabby around the middle!

I like they would like great especially with a thin long top, bit like the model is wearing. I look at them every year but something stops me from buying them, don't know what really.

BikeRunSki · 11/05/2015 13:30

Hmm. Yes. I'm hesitant too. A long top wouldn't, I have a very long back and even long tops leave a gap the waist.

Tricky one. They look so lovely, but I feel like a wally so easily, and think they might just tip me over the edge. I have got those loose trousers which I can wear, but I just live in jeans. What do you normally wear? Are you quite brave? Can you afford the risk? Grin

TheHappinessTrap · 11/05/2015 15:00

Ooh, I'm anther I've who would love to but hasn't dared. In your age, height and bottom size and think these look great for warm weather!

toastandmarmiterocks · 11/05/2015 15:10

I did it, I took the plunge... they are not my most flattering trouser but they are really comfy and also a welcome break from jeans. They did however bag at the knee annoyingly.

ZaraW · 11/05/2015 15:24

I think harems are really tricky to wear I'm 5' 9" and a size 10 and they didn't flatter me just looked really unflattering.

There seems to be less material in this style

Not brave! Normally wear jeans or chinos. Think I'm going to stick with them!

BikeRunSki · 11/05/2015 17:14

PrincessShcherbatskaya · 12/05/2015 11:16

Don't pay £45 for them, you can buy great harem pants on Amazon for £7!! Mine arrived today and are a great style and fit and exactly the same material as the hush ones

BikeRunSki · 12/05/2015 11:22

Ooh Princess, have you got a link ?

OP posts:
PrincessShcherbatskaya · 12/05/2015 12:40

Here goes;
www.amazon.co.uk/Candy-Girl-Alibaba-Ladies-Trousers/dp/B00IPJLTPS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1431430613&sr=8-1&keywords=Harem+pants+candy+girl

Links never seem to work for me but go to Amazon and search for 'harem pants by candy girl clothing'
It's the first one you see.
Worth trying these first as so much cheaper, I'm really pleased with mine.
I'm a size 10 5'7 and the s/m are a perfect fit on me.

PrincessShcherbatskaya · 12/05/2015 12:41

Oh it worked! ??

BikeRunSki · 12/05/2015 13:58

Thank you Princess, but I have just bought these from Fat Face. Not too baggy and hippo-ey round the middle, which is what I was worried about and not carrott-y on my bulky runner's calves. I can see me gettibg into these, may have to get your too'
