Strapless bra for 40D/DD - cleavage essential, too!

AccidentalAnarchist · 10/05/2015 19:35

I've had no replies in chat so trying here Smile

I'm a 40D/DD and need a strapless bra! The ones I love, strapless wonderbras, only go up to 38 back.

What other brands do a suitably uplifting strapless bra?! I'm desperate here and don't want an awful boob squashy/flatten them type bra

Any help appreciated!

Two of us replied with the same question. Have you been measured properly so that you know you're a 40D?

Sorry calamitously, I hadn't had any replies earlier when I reposted.
I've been M&S measured before as a 40D
My old 38D strapless wonderbra is too tight on the back

Try the 36G - seriously Grin

AccidentalAnarchist · 10/05/2015 20:06

That measurement just came as 38G!!

Furball · 10/05/2015 20:06

It's tight at the back because it is only a D cup, so your boobs are stealing the space from the band Smile

Honestly - measure as per the link in the other thread and post your measurements - you will not reqret it

M & S do the add 4 inches, why? I measure a 34 round, I am a 34. M & S would have me in a 38 Confused

AccidentalAnarchist · 10/05/2015 20:10

Right I'm going to buy a 38G and see what happens Grin

Get the 36H too and see which one is more comfortable.

M+S are shit at measuring, they had me in 38C, I am a 36G

Happy bra hunting!

AccidentalAnarchist · 10/05/2015 20:16

Has it really made a massive difference to you?! I've never heard of this method before!

OP posts:
Kleptronic · 10/05/2015 20:17

Yep really. M&S had me in a 36B and I had breast pain, strap slippage and a lifted central gore. After intervention, 34DD, happy snug pert boobs, no slippage, no pain, stay put.

PacificDogwood · 10/05/2015 20:20

Visit to Bravissimo change my life only a very small exaggeration Grin
No measuring tape in sight either...

AccidentalAnarchist · 10/05/2015 20:29

I must admit I do have strap slippage... I thought this was just normal!
I've ordered a new strapless wonderbra and feel quite excited! I am so sad

Strap slippage is prime sign of a too big band!

AccidentalAnarchist · 10/05/2015 21:23

How can I be 34 years old and not know any of this? Dragon

OP posts:
Furball · 10/05/2015 21:23

Statiscally - I got sent this ...........

Furball · 10/05/2015 21:25

accidently - look at my link - this is why you don't know this, as M & S, BHS and alot of others will ensure you do wear the wrong one.....

PacificDogwood · 10/05/2015 21:33

Who decided on this 'add 4' or 'add 5 inches'?? Confused

It is so… random.

I lost all faith in getting measured for a bra when I want to M+S, John Lewis and House of Fraser on the same day to get fitted for wedding lingerie (this happened admittedly about 200 years ago Grin) and got 3 wildly differing 'sizes' - I use the term loosely.

StatisticallyChallenged · 10/05/2015 22:18

Aaargh. ...runs screaming ftom thread.

I despair. Stop trying to flog us shit that doesn't fit and will cause some of us serious pain. Never mind feminists burning bras, how about we start by being sold ones that bloody fit!

Furball · 11/05/2015 06:52

The sent that link to everyone in their previous order list (to probably thousands and thousands) - with the email Title = Are you wearing the wrong bra? - I thought their penny might have dropped but I couldn't of been more wrong.

and why would the best way to measure is by wearing your old bra.......... it's all bonkers.

VeryVeryDarkGrey · 11/05/2015 06:57

I went from a 38c to a 34DD with the intervention! It did tell me i was a 34E but that didnt fit very well (raised gore and too much space in the cups) its better to try them on and see what fits you

StrawberryCheese · 11/05/2015 08:24

Ooh that BHS clip has given me the rage! accidently M&S fitted me in a 34B but I actually needed a 28E. It completely changed how all my clothes look on me. I am now a loyal bravissimo customer but I have friends who won't even set foot in the shop with me because they think they will be laughed out. They can't be convinced otherwise, it's such a shame.
