Phillips Lumea - will my tash fall off?

Just used mine on my top lip today where I have a slight, fine re growth from it being waxed last week. The leaflet says 'hair naturally sheds'. So what I am wondering is - will the slight tash I have just sort of fall out in the next few days??!!! Or will I still need to wax it?? Confused Thanks!

Bump. Clearly the fate of my tash is very important to me.

Marking my place, I'm interested in getting one !!!

NormHonal · 09/05/2015 20:23

I have one and have used it on my tash, but haven't really noticed anything happen, tbh.

I think it's because most of the hair I have there is fair, and it works better on dark hair.

I would say that having used it elsewhere, you shave first, then use the Lumea, and there just isn't any re growth. As opposed to shedding.

I have one but I shave the area beforehand but I do worry that it'll grow back darker and secretly the ipl will never work and I'll end up like Brian Blessed Grin

Runnaway · 09/05/2015 20:25

professor That is my fear. Hair removal takes up an awful lot of my thinking and doing time.

I don't think I would dare shave it as I would def have the only faulty IPL machine produced.

It won't noticeably fall out, but if you keep it up your trash will eventually disappear. I follow the instructions and shave, I have a feeling it will take much much longer to work if you keep waxing. All the dark bits of mine are basically gone.

Runnaway · 09/05/2015 20:38

Thank you, does it look stubbly after though?

No, it grows back fairly slowly and starts to get finer. I started off shaving mine a few times a week and using the lumea once a week. Now I can go a few weeks without doing either.

Runnaway · 09/05/2015 20:52

Ok. Thanks. I will have to be brave and do it then!

I've just bought a lumea and there's no way Id shave my tash.

I get a few hairs, it's not really bad but I veet it every now and then. I just did my top lip for the first time yesterday. No idea if it will work without shaving.

Also can anyone tell me I did my legs yesterday. Instructions say not to do it again for another two weeks. But I will need to do something inbetween. I can shave my legs can't i?

Runnaway · 09/05/2015 21:06

For the legs I understood that you shaved them, did the IPL then could do what you wanted in between, but the eventually you would notice you did not need to as often.

viva that's how I feel. I think I will switch from wax to vert to keep the root iyswim and hope the re growth is less. Hoping so as my tash is the main reason I bought it.

I've got a lumea. I do my chin, tache, underarms, bikini line, arms and legs. (I'm very hairy!!!!) I shave in between Viva. Not seen much results yet am on my 2nd go for my legs and 3rd for my chin. Terrified it's not going to work and I'll end up with a beard too!

Runnaway · 09/05/2015 21:10

argent Do you shave tash/chin? My neck is even hairy. Gets me down!!

OP posts:
ArgentinianMalbec · 09/05/2015 21:17

Yes! Tache not so much as its finer but my hairy chin is why I got it really. There are a few little patches and they're really dark so I have to shave. Hoping they all fall out eventually with the ipl! Confused God it's so embarrassing!!!!!

SolomanDaisy · 09/05/2015 21:22

It worked on my chin too. I haven't been arsed to do my legs for ages, but I had the best effects there in only a couple of sessions. It takes ages to do legs though.

LaCerbiatta · 09/05/2015 21:23

If you don't shave it won't work. The light is atracted to the dark areas, if you don't have the dark spots from the follicles the light won't focus there if ithat makes sense? That's my understanding anyway! :)
If you wax then I think the IPL won't work at all...

Runnaway · 09/05/2015 21:26

Oh no!!! I will have to wait another two weeks now anyway. Will see if the hair sheds at all by then. I was so exciting about buying this thing. Think I was hoping for a simple solution. Now it is seeming like hard work!!
