I would love to go to makeup counter to see what suits me without getting the hard sell.I do know a bit about what suits but I would like a more natural look especially at weekends.I just feel quite intimidated +end up leaving I do have a certain budget but don't want to waste my cash.does anyone have any ideas or feel the same!

Used to, but now I think, "I'm not being guilted into buying things I don't want, and I'm not going to be intimidated".

I find that the Bobbi Brown, Laura Mercier and Nars counters are the best. They don't push stuff at you to encourage you to buy two things to qualify for a free gift bag, and they seem to really know what looks good, and natural.

Or go to just update one item (eg mascara or concealer), then say no thanks to the rest or ask for samples so you can use it in your own time. Then slowly build up your relationship that way.
