Too old for undercut?

I got mistaken for a grandparent at my local soft play. I'm 35! I do have a very boring chin length bob. Is it insane to get a small undercut put in to make it look more edgy? I don't want to do a pixie crop or anything too short all over as I'm a bit chubby faced and pregnant... What to do?

Well, I'm forty in a fortnight and I have an undercut...

squoosh · 07/05/2015 17:55

You should have your eyebrows buzzed off for even asking!

35 is mere foetus status.

Baalamooree · 07/05/2015 18:08

Of course not. Go for it!!

everythingsgoingsouth · 07/05/2015 18:45

off to google what an undercut is.........

Oh good! I don't expect it to transform me into Scarlett Johansson but hopefully they won't offer me the grandma free tea again! skips off to fetch clippers

Nah, of course not! Go for it if that's what you want.

Considering this myself- am 38. I love that look but scared I'll look a fool!

Hairdresser booked for Tuesday. I realised that for the first time since uni, I have no corporate dress code to follow, no people to impress or worry about first impressions. If I'm ever having fun with hair again it needs to be now. Plus if it's half shaved off now, when the inevitable post pregnancy fall out starts maybe I'll have worked up the nerve to buzz the lot off!

What is undercut?

Daretobear · 08/05/2015 11:04

I'm in the same situation as you, stillnot - no longer heading into an office. I'm just about to turn 50 and considering returning to the pink-haired days of my youth. I'd say go for it.

It'll always grow out if you hate it!

ZaraW · 08/05/2015 11:06

If you have a strong look it will work well.

grisclair · 08/05/2015 11:24

Not trying to be mean here, but I think that type of cut tends to works best on slim faces with good cheekbones. I'm generally not a big fan of undercuts on anyone though.

stillnotjustamummy · 08/05/2015 12:02

True Grisclare, which is what made me hesitate. But a flick through the photo archive shows I've had plenty of disastrous 'styles' and survived. The only one I really like from the Olden Days archive was a royal blue and black jaw length bob. I loved the late 90s/early 00s! Maybe I'll chuck some colour in the mix and see if I scare anyone at the school gate!
