plain black shoes for posh supermarket job?

I got my dream part-time mature student job, supermarket (22 hours a week) and we get the uniform but I am thinking about getting a new pair of shoes. They have to be

plain
black
sturdy
lace-up (ideally)
flat
no trainers
ideally not frumpy
not got a massive budget

Waitrose??

Grin it's a big supermarket chain and seems an excellent employer in terms of benefits! the shoes must be black, and the uniform is grey and light green.

I like these but I like chunky & I know a lot of people don't

PetiteBateau · 06/05/2015 17:32

Oops, they're not lace up though

Doc Martens, though they may be expensive.

Clarks Hamble Oak brogues? Or is there too much detailing on them?

BikeRunSki · 06/05/2015 19:41

These clark's brogues are my work shoes. Very comfy and hardwearing - I've worn them all day, about twice a week for nearly 2 years]].

X post!

BadgersArse · 06/05/2015 19:43

everyvotecounts · 06/05/2015 19:59

I wear these to work, Both of these are comfy (cushioned soles) hard wearing and support and I think don't look too frumpy
