Cocowhite oil pulling

Has anyone tried this method of teeth whitening? Loads of good reviews online but mainly celebs and beauty bloggers promoting it for payment (I presume?)

I think if I swooshed water around my mouth for the required 10 minutes my teeth would be cleaner and my gums healthier but then I'm a bit skeptical. :)

hmm I just can't find any genuine reviews.

I had not heard of it but seems odd to me. I've heard of normal coconut oil being good for teeth whitening, or just oil pulling in general helping with it though. Have you tried with a regular oil? Must be lots cheaper.

Yes but it tasted vile and made me gag- whereas these are flavoured so should be less disgusting.

Oh, I see! What about adding some peppermint essence to a regular oil?

8oreighty · 06/05/2015 14:47

I did it - do it when I can remember. It works. I felt sick the first couple times, but now it's quite relaxing, problem is I never get up early enough to fit it in before kids breakfast etc. When I do it my teeth are noticeably whiter and breath fresher etc, dentist commented on my lovely mouth hygiene and I never floss!

What is it? As in what is 'oil pulling'?

gotredonyou · 06/05/2015 16:11

It's where you swish the oil around your teeth/gums (like mouthwash) to improve dental health/whiteness.

Just use coconut oil, Cocowhite is an unnecessary expense. I've been oil pulling for a long time now and the results are great.

Ah, I've just bought a big jar of coconut oil, had no idea it was good for teeth whitening so I'll give it a go Smile
