Yes stick with cotton. And make sure it fits, no camel toes

I don't think your age matters. I'd try it on and see if you feel comfortable in it. I think the sleeves might annoy me, otherwise it's lovely.

Depends where you wear it. Night out on the Riviera with toned, tanned pins, I think it would look great. Afternoon at the Whitgift Centre in Croydon = mutton.

Depends how it suits you. I've tried loads and I have the wrong shape but see other people looking good in them.

Definitely more a holiday look than the school run though...
