Are these trousers too casual for the office?

I've found these trousers in john lewis. I'm thinking they might work with some heels and a smart top or blouse. However they do look a bit joggerish so maybe not smart enough for the office. We are a smartish office - not so smart we need to wear suits and not so casual we can wear jeans. If they are not suitable does anyone have any other suggestions of nice comfortable trousers please?

Most of my smart work trousers are either too big (due to weight loss) or too tight (due to them sitting in drawer since pre child days. I also feel they are now a bit dated looking - all boot cut / wide leg. I desperately need new trousers for work that are smart and super comfortable - I do between a 12 to 14 hours per shift (nightshift). I love the slimmer type fits of trousers that are around just now.'

For reference I'm 5foot 5, size 12 /14, big norks and a bit of a tummy (not massive though) I have slim legs. Ive been losing weight this year and dropped a stone and a half since January. I'm still losing so don't want to spend £££ for them not to fit 4 months down the line but I don't want anything from the super cheap / polyester type of fabric range. I'm looking to spend around £30/ £40 a pair perhaps a bit more if needs be.

The product is titled as trousers but if you read the description they are 'track pants' so I would say too casual for almost all offices. Have you tried Zara? They have some decent workwear that's modern and not too pricey. My favourite work trousers are (sale) French Connection though - bit pricier but worth considering once you're at the weight you want to get to?

I actually like them and would wear them. I have similar trousers. I think the trick is smart shoes and tailored or fitted top.

The ones I have are from Tesco and smarter than those and cheaper also

60snameI will have a look in zara but I usually find the sizing in there isn't really suited to my shape. Admittedly I haven't tried since I've lost weight so it's worth trying again. I do love french connection. I had some stuff from there years ago but it's been a while - I do plan on shopping there again when I've got to my target weight.

mrsmeerkat do you have a link for the tesco trousers please? I've had a look online but can't find them.

I'm still tempted to buy the john lewis ones - or at least try them on. I could always use them as casual trousers if they don't look smart enough for work.
