What can I wear for my wedding for under £100?

Found the perfect dress, was WAY over budget.
I'm a fat 16 14
Church wedding
Don't want to order from China
I'd rather have a normal shop dress than someone's 2nd hand dress if that makes sense.
Can anyone help?

What did the perfect dress look like? Where is your wedding? what do you want to look like?

CraftyCrafterson · 02/05/2015 19:43

It was a proper wedding dress, lace, glitz etc.
just thinking of getting a normal dress instead? Something nice from debenhams type thing?
Church wedding. All inside.

Oh and I want to look thin but that's not going to happen Grin so I'll settle for covered up.

My wedding dress was in the sale and just under £100 from debenhams. Try high street, TESCO it seems now do wedding dresses. Also try BHS. Good luck with finding a beautiful dress.

I wore a colbat blue strappy dress. It was something like £60 from dorothy perkins and really pretty and flattering.
Might not be fancy (?) enough for what you want though.
What sort of thing are you looking for? White? Lacy? Or a bright colour?

fatnan76 · 02/05/2015 19:52

I don't think I'm very good at finding dresses but would you go for something like this:

www.lindybop.co.uk/all-dresses-c1/ophelia-classy-vintage-1950s-pinup-prom-swing-wedding-bridesmaid-dres-p273

or

www.lindybop.co.uk/all-dresses-c1/pearl-exquisite-beige-polka-long-sleeved-vintage-50s-inspired-swing-party-dress-p1441

which could look great with a full petticoat, birdcage veil and fab shoes?

There's some gorgeous wedding type dresses here...

Should say they do every size from UK size 6 to UK 20+

Essexgirlupnorth · 02/05/2015 20:00

Some charity shops sell second hand wedding dresses. Got my dress from a shops that sold ex samples, old sessions stock so mine was £300 instead of £1200 it would have been full price. Monsoon have some outlet shops that may have some wedding dresses.

tethersend · 02/05/2015 20:04

hettie · 02/05/2015 20:26

here
more lace
long and covers arms too

Blue2014 · 02/05/2015 20:41

Coast outlet shops are also amazing, I found my perfect wedding dress in their for £40 a couple of days which would've been great but I got married years ago!

MyFriendsCallMeOh · 02/05/2015 20:44

Look at ivory bridesmaids dresses instead of wedding dresses, they seem to be much cheaper. Plainer dresses are much cheaper but can be accessories. Can you get something plainer with a diamanté belt for example?

Thisishowyoudisappear · 02/05/2015 20:52

I saw a very pretty cream weddingy dress in H&M today - can't find it on the website. £70 IIRC.

CloserToFiftyThanTwenty · 02/05/2015 21:16

Under budget when they next have a sale day

stuckonchapterone · 02/05/2015 21:43

I recommend this; www.joules.com/Women/Dresses/Elsefloral/Womens-Floral-Cotton-Dress/Opal-Blue-Blossom?id=S_ELISEFLORAL|OPLBLSM

It's lovely, and can be worn again. Plus, you can dress it up / down.

Best of luck Smile
