How do I get silky hair...

I'm finally the OP...

My hair is fine, straight and there's not a huge amount of it. Straightening it generally enhances how there's not an awful lot of it, as does putting it up in a ponytail.

My aim would be for it to be shiny, smooth, silky, preferably not entirely flat to my head.

As it is so fine, it could ideally be washed every day but I tend to wash it every other day in the week to try and save the condition.

At the moment, it is a couple of inches past my collar bone but the ends go quite fluffy. I am very nearly at the stage of having no dye on it as I don't think this helps - it's a sort of unintentional ombre but it doesn't look too bad condition.

So... please share your tips!

Ditch anything with silicones, I love Neal's yard shampoos. Rinse with cider vinegar. Steep your hair in coconut oil once a week for a couple of hours if you can.

I can't recommend coconut oil more.

This stuff is brilliant and only costs a pound in our local cheapo chemist.

Did a bit of revamp of hair routine recently with similar motivation. really liking Trilogy shampoo and conditioner, the nourishing one.

Castor oil soak twice a week works wonders. I mix it 50/50 with jojoba oil to make it easier to apply. Sometimes add some camellia oil and rosehip oil too.

So does this stuff. Smells gorgeous.

Also, blowdrying on the coolest setting or cold shot can help maintain the condition well.
