Myla/Agent Provocateur style for bigger boobs??

mowglik · 01/05/2015 14:52

I love underwear by myla and AP but they don't do my size at all in bras or basques etc and their babydolls either fit in the body but the bust bit is tiny or vice versa

does anyone know of any lingerie companies that do similar styles but for bigger cups - my size is 30FF

I take it you've tried going up a back size and the E cup? Aubade is nice but I don't think they do a FF. I ought to be a 34FF but I've ordered a 36E, I'll let you know how it goes! I think in a half cup bra it shouldn't be too much of an issue?

TranmereRover · 01/05/2015 15:25

Miss mandalay - unless it's the half cup / crotchless styles you're after... (& they do fantastic swimwear in bra sizes too - everythign in a 30 inch back and some in 28)

StatisticallyChallenged · 01/05/2015 15:46

Can you link to any styles you like just to give an idea what to look for?

SirVixofVixHall · 01/05/2015 16:22

I am a bigger cup size than you,(G/GG) and I've never found an AP or Myla bra that fitted, even when I was much thinner and so a few cup sizes smaller. Even the biggest cup sizes run small, and the backs run large (I'm a 28, but often wear a 30). Damaris/mimi Holiday do smaller backs than AP and go up to a G I think, but I haven't ever tried their bras so don't know how they fit. They have a similar feel style-wise to AP and Myla.

anothercrackatit · 01/05/2015 16:35

BTW tranmere I fear you may be doing AP a disservice by suggesting they do crotchless knickers, I've just trawled through their website and I can't find any!

SirVixofVixHall · 01/05/2015 16:43

They have loads...they are called "ouvert".

SirVixofVixHall · 01/05/2015 16:44

(to make them sound all French and sophisticated, like)

mowglik · 01/05/2015 16:44

Thanks for the recs will have a look at those tonight..i bought one myla bra in 32DD and it doesn't really cover my boobs so not really for proper wear I'm keeping it more for fun

I love these kind of styles and wish I could find them in bigger cups but seems like a mission:

myla halterneck

myla

whimsical lace type

myla again

OP posts:
mowglik · 01/05/2015 16:47

AP bras

AP

strappy AP

i realise a lot of these designs arent really for everyday wear but i would like some like these that cover my nips at least!

I think only AP goes up to E cup and I think 32E would be ok but myla only go up to DD Hmm

SirVix these are crotchless? I did wonder because of the name but they look like they've got a proper gusset in the pictures.

SirVixofVixHall · 01/05/2015 17:15

anothercrackatit, yes they are. I assume they unbutton actually, but haven't seen them in the flesh. All the ouverts are essentially crotchless though, the clue being in the name, french for "open".

SirVixofVixHall · 01/05/2015 17:16

OP figleaves do a bra very like the last AP one you listed, I will find it and link.

SirVixofVixHall · 01/05/2015 17:28

OP you also might like Fleur of England.

StatisticallyChallenged · 01/05/2015 17:48

So, I'm getting that you like see-through and lacey and preferably black Grin

Ewa Michalak - in your size it would look like the version on the model with dreads. This one is, urm, EXTREMELY see through in real life, gives great uplift and can still be actually worn outside of the bedroom. Always a bonus! Known to have interesting effects on husbands/partners Grin

lace babydoll The cup shape would be more like the one above in your size - this brand adds an extra panel at larger cup sizes and they've shown this on their bigger model. I think it would be like a babydoll version of this

Those are all semi - sensible ones which are genuinely wearable

Mimi holliday I've tried, found it ok but small in the band]]

this is in stock in the 32F and similar to some of the ones you linked

this comes in your size if you can find it, or try the 32F

nude but lacey

lacey peacock

WIldcard, different look but this longline from Curvy Kate comes with gorgeous suspenders

just peachy black lace

This one has the strap detail!

more straps!

Freya icon babydoll not quite AP territory I'm afraid but still pretty nice. And fitting is always a bonus!

the shape of this is simple but I think the lace is particularly nice

figleaves strappyish babydoll

What about a corset? An underbust (look at Orchard Corsets) paired with a good plunge bra can look fabulous.

It is difficult being a slightly larger cup size and wanting properly sexy lingerie (I'm a HH, I feel your pain!) I've done the whole wearing a much bigger band size and it just never feels very comfortable. One band up, fine for a while but any more just becomes unpleasant IME

xposted with sirvix...as you can probably tell I started typing that lot a while ago!

mowglik · 01/05/2015 19:12

Oo lovely linky post Grin thanks stat and sirvix Hmm just on my way out but I will have a good look over a cup of tea tonight, I love looking at undies! Hopefully order a couple too

This is a great post, thank you OP and all contributors. I'm going to have a rootle through and see what I can get in my actual size rather than what I can fit into Blush. I may have already bid on a wrong size BNWOT AP bra which I e had my eye on for ages, 'this a thing of beauty.

StatisticallyChallenged · 01/05/2015 19:48

That looks quite similar to gossard glossies. Not identical but it certainly reminds me of it.

anothercrackatit · 01/05/2015 20:04

They are similar aren't they? Thank you for the link. I always think AP look better than the more high street ranges but perhaps that's just me being a snob? I'd have to shift myself Up Town and compare them in person rather than squinting at them on screen. Our local department store does stock Gossard so I'll pop in and look, I'm having mixed feelings about my eBay bid now! Damn it, I've just won the other thing I bid on...

StatisticallyChallenged · 01/05/2015 20:11

I think AP use particularly nice fabrics, really lovely lace and sheers. Thankfully I'm miles out of their size range so don't get tempted by the "almost fits" options!

SirVixofVixHall · 01/05/2015 20:35

Anothercrack- That AP bra is, as Stats says, just like the Gossard one. I think it is one AP made as part of a retro 70s collection, while Gossard had discontinued the Glossies range. Gossard then brought Glossies back, in a bigger size range, but with a slightly different design. I agree AP use lovely fabrics, especially lace, but that bra looks as though it will be the same fabric as the glossy one. I've never been able to wear an AP bra, as I said. I think they can be a bit style over substance anyway as far as the bras are concerned. The fit was never great even on smaller cupped women. But maybe they are meant more as boudoir wear than all day! I've bought suspenders and pants, but not since they were bought out. They used to have interesting niche designers, not just their own range. I tried to get a nursing bra but they were all tiny in the cup, which seemed a bit mad. They didn't do double cup letters, so their G was actually much smaller anyway, I don't know if that's still true?

ImpatientGriselda2 · 01/05/2015 20:36

Playful Promises do some 32Fs if that's any good, and IMO look quite like AP lingerie but about half the price:

mowglik · 02/05/2015 00:36

Wow - I've just spent a little more than I was planning to on new undies - hoping I won't love all of them and will send some back Confused

thanks so much for the effort in finding similar styles Flowers - I loved and bought the mimi holiday ones have great hopes for the teal lace one. Also the strappy ones from figleaves and the black babydoll - didn't know you could get babydolls with proper cups

Also love fleur of England but may wait for a sale as the styles I like are spendy

Well I'm happy and I'm sure stats will be too, that we judged your taste so well! Ewa Michalak also do baby dolls with bra cups which you might like.
