I have hideous dark scaly patches of skin on my feet and knees. What will help?

Hello yankySmile

Anything with a high percentage of urea in it. Flexitol or something similar is good.

Try Eucerin's Aquaphor skin balm. A little goes a long way. Its the only thing that sorted out my dry flaky patches.

Dame! Hello! :)

I think I've got some of that actually, Million! I got it for my DC's chapped cheeks in the winter... I totally forgot til now. Will try!

I'd recommend Shea Butter, a life saver for me when I get dry skin days/weeks!

I second the Eucerin recommendation - all sorts of different products in their range and bound to be one that will work perfectly for you (I personally rate their Aquaporin Rich, 5% urea night cream, and very dry cream).

urea creams are good but use them on damp skin, the urea helps the skin to absorb moisture, so if you put it on a bone dry skin, there's nothing to absorb.

Flexitol is probably the best known
Dermatonics is available on prescription

Body Shop Hemp has good reviews

I use Shea Butter on my hands (L'Occitane) because it goes on 'matte'

I've used Vaseline on my heels then a pair of cotton socks

Gentle use of the finer side of a foot file to buff when dry
Drink lots (water obviously Wink )
