Wedding in Italy, outfit finishing touches.

I'm travelling to Italy to a wedding in late May, I've chosen a midi skirt and blouse but would love any advice on shoes, bag and perhaps a jacket or cover up for when it gets chilly in the evening.

This is the skirt from ASOS

I'm going to wear it with this ivory top from Coast

I'm particularly stuck on jacket/cover up because of the neckline on the top, any thoughts? I'll be wearing my hair up to show off the neckline of the blouse because its very flattering.

All advice much appreciated!

I think with the neckline I would avoid a necklace and have earrings instead and maybe a cuff to toughen it up a bit? Shoes could be silver, gold or navy. Struggling with a jacket! With a full skirt something structured might be nice. But what colour?

You're right, definitely no necklace, it wouldn't be seen anyway. I like the idea of a cuff. I had been thinking of a pearl bracelet that I already have but something to make it a bit more edgy might be better.

The shoes I was thinking gold or nude, the metallic embroidery on the skirt is much more champagne/gold rather than silver. Should I have a shoe or a sandal, pretty or funky?

The outfit works because of the wide waistband that really emphasizes the waist. I think if I add a jacket then that waistline would be hidden, so maybe I need something short enough not to hide the waist?

Love that skirt.

Hard to tell re colours / fabrics without seeing in the flesh but New Look have a cropped blue jacket here.

Hobbs one here

Oyster but maybe a bit mother of the bride

These might all be way off the mark, but were the first things I found with a quick Google. :)

Love those jackets, the Hobbs ones are too pricey but great for inspiration.

For the shoes, do you think narrow, slim heel or block heel?

Which of these do you prefer?

option 1

option 2

option 3

option 4

option 5

option 6

option 7

Sorry to give so many suggestions, I usually pick a nice outfit but I tend to let myself down on the finishing touches and accessories. This time I really want to get it right!

I love your outfit! I think option 4- the gold ones are best. Brings out the pzazz in the skirt and you could easily wear them again. In terms of jacket, maybe one in a similar colour to the top but in a different texture for subtle contrast . Maybe 3/4 length sleeves?

Take sunglasses. For some reasons, Italians seem to wear them a lot in weddings.

Oh and I like your outfit, I think it would really work in Italy. Where is the wedding going to be? Late May can be really hot so if you are lucky you won't need a coverup. I went to a evening garden party today here in Rome and a blazer was enough, and it was a cold and rainy day!

It is pissing it down in central Italy tonight I can confirm. Hoping it changes soon or you might be accesorizing with wellies!

Second the sunglasses suggestion. Very big on that at Italian weddings. Also bags are a big deal here too. Brands naturally, not always particularly beautiful but still Missoni/Gucci. Can you borrow one? No one wears hats but they expect (get strangely excited) that the English will.

Love that skirt. Option 4 also my favourite shoe, but do be aware Italians will not be in strappy heels in May, it will still be coats and stiletto weather for them!
