bikini help for the awkwardly sized

I'm due to go on holiday soon and need a swimsuit.
I hate swimsuit shopping, just thinking about it reduces me to tears, even more so post baby.
I'm looking for a pin up/retro style bikini with big pants. A high waist would hide my stretched stomach.
I'm a size 10 but a 28G.
I'm not keen on swimwear that looks like a bra and pants. And I'm really not keen on a halterneck, they are painful at the back of my neck.
I generally look like a porn star in size 10 high street bikini tops. And im not the flaunt it type!
I used to by tie up triangle size 18 tops but now I need proper support.
I like this sort of style on this vogue cover, but I can't find one anywhere

John Lewis do a swimwear fitting service

Doublethecuddles · 28/04/2015 15:43

Figleaves are fantastic. They are Internet only I think!

nottheOP · 28/04/2015 16:12

After trying on loads of that style, I've gone back to a triangle bikini. I honestly think they're more flattering and as much as I hate my mummy tummy, I know that as a size 12 dress size, I am not that big and noone else will be looking at my tummy.

I am also getting a spray tan!

Some of these might work too;

The bravissimo lady said it was a bit more flattering to go up a back size and down a cup size in a lot of bikinis which might open your options a bit also... ASOS have a lot in 30ff which are quite reasonably priced too and have high waisted briefs

I love that one nottheop, but I really can't wear halter neck. They are just too painful with the strain.
I'm not prepared to go up a back size and down a cup. It isn't flattering after trying it. And for some reason a lot of swimwear seems to come up small anyway.
I might go for a top off figleaves and buy some bottoms separately. Cleo bras usually fit quite well so hopefully there swimwear will be the same

For seriously retro, how about this from Cleo?

I've actually found that if anything Cleo swimwear comes up a little big in the cups. Plus, if you are planning to actually swim in it swimwear always seems to grow a cup size in the water!

They also did the Jecca last season if you can track down the pants (there were high waisters)

this pink one from Curvy Kate can come with high waisted bottoms or a swim skirt although annoying the non strapless top starts at a 30 - the strapless comes in your size

EuphemiaCoxton · 28/04/2015 19:16

That cleo one is super!

Finally found it in stock! 28G here and pants here

I think cleo did a couple of other retro style ones too.
