Photoshopping - do your girls know what it is?

Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I was having a discussion about photo-shopping yesterday.

My DD (10) has no idea what it is. Does yours?

And what age / how did she find out about it? I know they teach it in some schools (media manipulation stuff), but not ours.

Should I teach her about it? And how (don't actually have photo-shop on the home computer!)

I know many girls are more media-savvy about this stuff because they see mags and internet images of celebs with / without make-up and before /after photo-shopping, but I've not allowed my daughter look at this stuff so far, which is probably why other girls know about the topic than her...

Any ideas about this topic would be helpful - thanks!

It came up by looking at magazines and watching films etc.

There is a video on YouTube called 'Dove evolution'. Some don't like it (it is a marking tool after all) but is a good example of photoshop. You could use that to explain it?

Thanks for the suggestion - looks good

Here is a great spoof video that shows how some of it is done: Fotoshop by Adobe.
