Flares: I have bought some but not sure what tops/jackets?

I have always been a follower of Skinny but decided to get on board and try on some flares (in tescos not doubt) just to see if I looked really silly. Well, I did think I looked a bit silly but thought at the £18 or whatever it was that it may be worth trying them out.

I just wondered what tops/jackets to wear though. I also saw lovely green long straight slim cardigan in new look and wondered if this would just look a bit wrong.

Here is is. It looks better in real life believe me, with the lapels that just go down the sides of the body, rather than pulled together, if you know what I mean
this

Or would this kind of thing look like I was trying to mix two looks (as I usually wear with skinny jeans)
here kimono jacket

Any help appreciated :) Thanks.

I'd wear fitted tops/basic tops with flares.

Now I want some flared jeans!

It was the best style of jeans for me. Finally it's back!

flux500 · 27/04/2015 13:35

@Amelie you should get some! I'm sure there are far nicer ones than mine too :) I feel very leggy lol.

flux500 - yeah I've been looking since I read your post. LOL. Apparently not too many choices here in Melbourne though. I don't want to buy jeans online as much as possible. And yes, flared jeans make me look really leggy as well - and I love that! It also balances my brick/straight/rectangle upper body, I think.

@amelie I agree about online ordering. You have to order lots of size/length variations to try and get a good fit and even then the stuff usually goes back!

I am currently wearing mine with a sheer blouse half tucked and a tab skinny leather belt. Feeling very stylish as I work from home with no one to admire/make fun of my outfit lol.

I bought some in h and m but also not sure what wear with them. I wore with a striped t shirt and trainers and felt like my teenage self circa 1975!

AmelieinOz · 27/04/2015 23:35

flux500 - I'm envious! I'm sure you look very stylish! :) Post a pic.

It seems like Australia hasn't gotten the memo about flared jeans though. Crossing fingers I find some in Zara! True about online ordering - I think jeans and leather jackets are two items that should not be bought online!

I just got some gorgeous flares in relaxed denim from Next. £26. Have a stretch in them so sized down. Love them. Bought a couple floaty poet style tops to wear with them.

I wore my M&S Limited Collection flares recently and kept it simple with this top in khaki tucked in and worn with a gold necklace:

I'm a size 10, slim all over but with a huge stomach Blush Problem I have is wearing tight tops. I love high waist flares/wide trousers but don't know what top to wear with them as I end up either looking pregnant or with lots of rolls of fat Blush That Boden top is gorgeous... on someone as slim waisted as that model. Any suggestions for a looser fit top? I'm just buying this from new look:

and this from tesco with flared jeans:

Am I going wrong?!?!
