Can we talk about wellies please?

Would like to get a nice pair of wellies as we do loads of walking in muddy places, and long walks with the dc. I have walking boots from Blacks, which rub against my ankle as I have metal work in there from a break. Would love some good wellies to schlump about in.

Any tips at which are great and which are rubbish, would be much appreciated.

I have worn Hunters for years. I won't wear anything else.
I find them a great fit and they don't rub.
Wear them every day for dog walking and school run on foot or bike in wet weather.
They are on the pricey side, but found them worth the investment.
If you have a TKMaxx close by, you might find some there. I've found them in 2 of their stores in our area.
