Not-so skinny jeans

After a winter of wearing skinny jeans with boots, spring is (supposedly) here and I'm finding that my skinnies (Zara) aren't looking too good with pumps and flats. Can anyone advise on what style I should be looking for? Slim boyfriend jeans? I want something a bit more relaxed, but still flattering and not too loose. Any ideas?

Slim boyfriend, definitely. You have to try them on, though. Some shops (next) pass any old baggy nonsense off as boyfriend jeans.

When you find the right ones, they really update your look. I've had converse for ages that just didn't look right with skinny jeans but suddenly with slim boyfriend jeans rolled up a bit they look good.

I got my slim boyfriends from Dorothy Perkins last year, but not sure if they are doing the same style this year. I have some distressed M&S girlfriend jeans which look great and am thinking of getting these too:

Also, Next do relaxed skinny ones with a bit of distressing which are good too: www.next.co.uk/g4d80s4#967908g4d

Seconding Gap girlfriend jeans. They're brilliant. Size up if you like them a bit slouchy.

Thanks so much for all your help! I used to love gap jeans but then found they didn't have enough stretch in them so they were bagging on my bum by late morning. So uncomfortable, not to mention unflattering. Do their girlfriend jeans have stretch-ability do you know? Will look at the other ones suggested too - toast, DP and top shop thanks!

Gap jeans have really improved lately, I think - the ones I've bought recently have been pretty good about not going baggy.

clutterfly · 30/04/2015 20:04

Thanks for that leedy I may give them another try...

Do! I had resigned myself to always having to buy expensive jeans to get a good fit/not going baggy in the arse and knees, and have been v pleasantly surprised by Gap lately. Also they currently all have 30% off if you get them this weekend.

bigfatfeet · 01/05/2015 13:17

Gap also do a style called "slim straight" which falls somewhere between skinny and relaxed - might be worth a try.

I've just bought some straight legs from M&S which look much better on me than actual boyfriend jeans. From the Indigo bit. They fit me brilliantly and were only £22!
