Am I looking for the impossible shoe?

I work in the family restaurant and am on my feet 8-10 hours a day, doing lots and lots of walking. After spending an inordinate amount of time, effort and cash, I thought I'd found the best choice for me in Ecco shoes, currently wearing these. However, I have a really dodgy ankle (achilles tendinopathy), and at my podiatrist appointment today I was told that the wedge is perfect, but that I could do with more cushioning. Really, I want a smart looking shoe with the comfort of trainers. Is there such a thing? How cushioned are Geox? I've seen these which look ok, but I'm reluctant to spend that much if they're not any better than what I'm wearing now. If anyone has any other suggestions they'd be most welcome. Most of the staff wear more casual clothes than me, with crocs (the horror Wink) or trainers, but I tend to wear dresses or skirts and like to look professional. Thanks in advance.

Have a look at Gabor Haven. So comfortable I have then in different colours
Quite pricey but sometimes they are reduced on Amazon.
Haven

I would wear sketchers go walk, I know they are not sensible looking shoes but you can get them in black and I think I have seen leather ones too. I have worked in restaurants and endured the foot pain Sad.

Rockport shoes are, basically, shoes with an Adidas sole (why can't more shoe manufacturer's do this type of thing?) so may be worth looking at?

manufacturers not manufacturer's!

Doc martens?

Are you Heather Mills?

Or one of those 'performers' who wears half-man's suit/half-woman's dress? You'll be needing a trouser and a lip, too, possibly red Grin

I could get just one and hop. That would save the strain on my poor abused left ankle I'm sure. I may spill some coffees though. On reflection I'll be kind to myself and buy two.

I like the idea of the Rockports, but I love those fitflops. I've had the duo range before, and found them a bit narrow around my toes, but I'm going to order these to see. The ones with the white strap would look ok bare legged in the summer I think, so I'm hoping they fit well.

I work on my feet all day too. Most comfy I've found are Hush Puppies.
