Summer work shoes - stilettos?

I've recently discovered stilettos after years of block heels and am loving wearing them for work. But now it's heading towards bear legs weather in not sure what shoes to buy. Do people just wear their usual shoes with bear legs? Sorry if that's a silly question.

I have some standard style court shoes but I prepare ones with an ankle strap as I find them much easier to walk in.

Also I'd prefer a peep toe or slightly open top when I'm not wearing tights but don't think full-on sandles are appropriate for work...

Oh and I have feet that blister annoyingly easily so leather is better than synthetic. But also I don't want to spend too much!

Anyway, I'll stop rambling. Any ideas, anyone??

with BEAR Legs? - kinda hairy?

ElizabethHoover · 22/04/2015 20:03

what do you need the shoes to wear with?

where do you work?

Financeprincess · 22/04/2015 23:57

I wouldn't worry about sandals being inappropriate. I wear stiletto sandals to work (in a smart environment) in the summer, and nobody bats an eyelid. Just make sure that your toenails look nice. Kurt Geiger is a mother lode of sophisticated summer shoes.

But not sure that they come in bear sizes.

Oh dear. I have committed two serious MN sins: failing to return to my thread and making a ridiculous spelling error. Sorry!

So, yes, BARE legs.

I work in the city but my office is relatively informal - the men wear suit trousers and shirts but ties would be viewed as OTT. For the women there's a range of all sorts of things but I tend to wear smart jersey dresses or pencil skirts with a lightweight jumper or blouse. When it's warmer I might also wear some floatier tea-dress type things. Last summer I wore peep toe wedges but are past their best.

Finance, could you link to example of the sort of sandal you wear?

Thanks everyone!

Go to l k Bennett. Expensive but they are extremely comfortable and last.

Umbrella, I work in the same type of office- I wear my black patent court shoes all year round, with opaques in winter, nude tights in spring and bare legs in summer. Only thing I have to be aware of is air con- sometimes even height of summer is freezing at work!

Floisme · 23/04/2015 07:49

I'm trying out some nude tights right now for the first time ever! Flalke from TK Maxx. Have to say I'm suprised at how natural they look but my legs feel like they're wrapped in cling film. We'll see.

I'm wearing them with flat ankle boots although I doubt whether that would go down well in the city.

Umbrelladilemma · 23/04/2015 08:11

Thanks those with helpful comments. Elizabeth - Grin. So maybe usual court shoes are the way to go.

Incidentally (and this may send me down in the S&B estimation) I too have tried nude tights this week and I think I like them Blush.

Update: got a ladder in those nude Falke tights. They must have lasted ooh ten minutes.

Back to grey opaques till it's properly warn.
