white top + black trousers = waitress?

I have a work event and nothing-to-wear, but am worried that the outfit I have in mind - a white shirt with my fave black trousers - will look a bit waitressy.

Not that there is anything wrong with being a waitress but it is not the look I'm going for.

OK if I add accessories do you think? Any suggestions?

Yes you'll need to jazz it up a fair bit to avoid being mistaken for staff! It happened to me once, I'd never wear that combo again tbh. Thought I was playing it safe Sad

A handbag on your arm all the time should throw them off the scent Grin yes and shoes, waitresses generally don't wear high heels, although your feet may not be the first thing someone looks at!

Avoid at all costs.
