Touché éclat - I don't get it!

I impulse bought some Touché clat last week as I briefly read ages ago that it was good for dark under eye circles.

I've used it twice and I don't really get it. What is it meant to do? I've watched various tutorials so I know I'm using it in the right places, but it just doesn't do anything. My skin looks no different to before.

Am I doing something wrong? Possibly not using enough product? Does anyone else use it and find it as amazing as everyone says? I don't want to relegate it to my unused cosmetics basket as it was expensive Grin

I had the same experience. It doesn't really give any coverage. Try doing your make up as usual and then using the touch eclat over the top.

In my opinion it's shit as an undereye concealer. It works well as a highlighting pen but there are many better cheaper products.

For under eye discolouration you need a good concealer. NARS Creamy Radiant or Collection Lasting Perfection (the latter is better than the NARS and is a tenth of the price). Blending is key.

I have dark lines from my tear ducts downwards rather than under eye circles so I step back from the mirror and stripe the eclat on the dark line bit then pat it with my finger or brush it over so it isn't a stripe anymore.

I also use it in the nose to mouth lines.

It's about putting light where shade is for me.

BTW it isn't meant to be a concealer.

Thanks all. Yes I understand it's not a concealer after watching all the videos (when I could have done with spending the money on a concealer really but never mind Grin). I just don't think it really highlights very much, if that makes sense? It just disappears in to my foundation even though I only touch it very lightly to blend in. I wasn't sure if I was doing something wrong or not using enough?

Bunny thanks for the concealer recommendations. Is the cheaper one Collection as in Collection 2000? I have been using a 17 one which is good everywhere else but sits in the small creases under my eyes and looks rubbish Sad

I love it. I know lots of people don't rate it, but it makes my skin look so much better. In the way Twitchcoco said.

It's supposed to be light reflecting. I read that you put it under your eye circles where the skin is plumper, and it throws light up to that area - but it doesn't seem to do anything for me. I'm another fan of the Collection Lasting Perfection concealer, (they have dropped the 2000!)

FelixFelix · 22/04/2015 15:00

I'll look out for the collection one, thank you. I'm going to persevere with the Touche Eclat and hopefully I'll get the hang of it. It's probably just my dodgy skin being the problem!!

Felix - not sure how you are applying it, but the best way is on top of your foundation. Dot it lightly along darker areas of your face (I put it down the creases at the base of my nose, under my eyes, and on the mouth-to-chin lines.) Gently pat & blend in with your fingertips.

When I do this, it seems to brighten up the shadowy areas of my face and make it look like I have a brighter, more even skin tone.
