Boden autumn preview T&C's

Couldn't see another thread on this. Anyone else got the email? Boden make it sound as if it's to our advantage but I suspect it must be better for them, and it would appear to tie up money in our bank accounts long before the goods are sent out.

I don't think they charge you until the clothes are sent out. Still good for them to have orders to fill when the stock comes in though. I havn't had an email, but it seems very early for the autumn preview.

Hoppinggreen · 21/04/2015 19:07

Not had mine yet but from experience they don't take any money until they dispatch the items.

Orangeanddemons · 21/04/2015 19:08

It does seem that they are wanting to charge before the goods are sent out. Obviously hoping to earn interest on our captive money

Four125 · 21/04/2015 19:11

I haven't had mine yet, which seems strange as Johnnie Boden speaks to me more often than DP.

Does anyone have a link please?

ZaraW · 21/04/2015 19:23

I've never known them to charge until items are shipped out. I pre ordered some shoes recently and changed my mind they cancelled my order without any questions.

polyhymnia · 21/04/2015 19:32

Please please could you or someone else with a link post it ?
They never charge till they send stuff out.

cardoon · 21/04/2015 19:35

What did Boden say Orangeanddemons?

Dear Customer,

Our Autumn Preview is just round the corner so we thought we'd tell you about a few changes to our Preview site. We're sure you're eager to see our latest range, but we have to bore you with a few technical details first.

The way in which orders from our Preview site are processed has been updated so we can get your items to you faster. An authorisation for the full cost of your order will now be processed when the order's placed, rather than when your items are available. (Authorisation is the standard process by which your bank temporarily 'reserves' the value of your order against the card you are using to buy in order to confirm to us that you have the funds available; the actual payment will not be taken until the order is dispatched.) This means that if we receive your delivery earlier than anticipated, you'll receive your delivery sooner. The period during which the money is 'reserved' depends on your card provider's policy.

We hope you're as excited as we are about our upcoming Preview range. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact our friendly Customer Services Team at [email protected]

Keep an eye on your inbox!

Yours sincerely,
Amy Russell.
Customer Services Manager

However, if we receive delivery of your items sooner, we will send them to you earlier. All orders are subject to acceptance under Boden's standard terms and conditions. Standard terms and conditions are set out on our website.

Hmm sounds as though at the least they check you have full amount in your account when you order?
Would still like a link to the site please.

cardoon · 21/04/2015 19:41

What if you're paying by C/C though Confused

Elliptic5 · 21/04/2015 20:16

That's what I'm concerned about cardoon as I always pay by credit card.

I gave them a ring and apparently the preview site itself isn't up till Friday so I guess they've sent out this rather enigmatic email first.

helloelo · 07/05/2015 22:48

Do you have any more information on these new T&Cs? Is it like a hire car where basically it holds the full amount so your CC balance is affected anyway? (I have £££ in my basket but £ across 3 delivery months IYSWIM)

princessdave · 08/05/2015 21:57

As I understand it they authorise (or reserve) the entire amount of your pre-order as soon as you place it. The delivery date for items seems to range from June to August - that's a long time to have funds tied up. All very well if you have a large amount of credit on a CC but preview is definitely just for browsing for me now.
