I need some lipstick help please

Getting married soon, I've got the dress and shoes and decided on my hair style, now I think I need a reddy sort of lipstick to finish it off. The wedding theme seems to be a bit of a nod towards the 50s but not twee about it.

What's the best brand to go for? My budget is around £20 but could be pushed further. I don't think I want anything too shiny either.

I love Mac and they do a a variety of red shades to suit all skin tones ect. The staying power of Mac is fab too.

saying htat, Nars do a matt red
as do collection 2000 1/4 of the price

Depending on your skin tone you'll look best in either a blue based (if you're cool toned) or orange based (if you're warm) lipstick.

I'd pop along to a few counters and try some. MAC do great reds.

I will do but I was looking for some recommendations first!

My favourite red is Howl by Illamasqua. It's slightly on the side of brick red (which I didn't think would suit me) but it is just fantastic on. For me, it's a perfect red that works with my face and doesn't overpower everything!

I also own Mac Ramblas Red, Russian Red, Viva Glam and Ladybird (and others which aren't Mac so I can't remember the names) - I love red lippy!

I had a fifties style tea length dress for my wedding, but I just used a neutral sort of pink. I wanted to wear red but one of the very few things DH asked for was no red lipstick!

Buzzfeed have got an article at the moment about red lipsticks, it's mainly American but there's a few good ones on there.
