Socks that don't wear out quickly

Does anyone have any recommendations for socks that don't wear out quickly at the soles? I don't drive, so mine probably wear out quicker than.most peoples as I walk a lot. However, they have been wearing out within months for the past few years. I've tried M&S, New Look, Dorothy Perkins and some bamboo jobbies from TKMaxx but none have lasted longer than a few.months before the soles are worn.

I think you may need to upgrade your sock expectations, what is your budget?

My fave socks at the mo are also bamboo, these rather than the Green Treat that TKMaxx have? Although a friend of mine swears by them.

What kind of shoes are you wearing? Can you try hiking socks rather than regular dress socks?

Primark thermal. They only sell them in autumn and winter though. 2 pairs for about 4 quid. I find they last about 2 years.

I think that men's socks last longer, for me I think that once I've washed women's socks a couple of times they get a bit small (size 6) and that makes them wear out more quickly. I still have a pair of men's cotton M&S socks that I stole from my dad 20 years ago and have worn regularly throughout that time.
