In my 50s and would like to put an oil on my face at night (maybe not every night) for general beautifying purposes. I'm thinking maybe almond or rapeseed? >

I don't get on with oil on my face either so I don't think everyone can use it. After using coconut oil for cleansing with, my pores got all blocked and i ended up looking like a spotty teenager. No matter how well i rinsed it off.

Almond oil made me too oily, after a few weeks i looked a greaseball, i was permanently shiny and my hair was so greasy I had to wash it every day. And it was dull.

Clarins blue orchid (and the other one) did exactly the same thing to me.

I wonder why I don't get on with oils, anyone got some thoughts on it? Skin is combination usually.

I like oils but can't use all of them. Rosehip is (perversely) drying, coconut\kukui\olive\peanut break me out, but apricot kernel, safflower, sweet almond and sunflower are all fine. I also can't use silicones, shea butter and a bunch of other stuff - it can take time to figure out what works and what doesn't for your skin. Oils do go off though so get a small bottle first and see how it works for you.
