DD2 had gorgeous naturally blonde hair. Then for no good reason she bleached it . It survived surprisingly well.
Last term at Uni, she decided to go brown (which of course went greenish) then reddish...much better.

However even done at the hairdressers, her hair fades incredibly quickly.. the natural roots take, the rest fades to a mucky light brownish colour.

She refused to get it chopped, loves red, so I was wondering if it would be reasonable to try henna... her hair looks pretty sad at the mo and I think henna might stick better as it stains the hair more. I used to use henna for years and loved it..used it over old chemical dyes with no bother and as her hair is reddish already (albeit a bit patchy) would it be a terrible thing to try?

Like you I used henna for years, over chemical dyes and all sorts and it was always lovely. Maybe not leave it on too long the first time? The condition and shine is amazing.

I use the henna from Lush (alternate between the Marron and Rouge) love it as it is the nearest to my natural colour (which is chestnut brown/red in certain light). Wouldn't use anything else now.
Only thing is the mess it makes and the faff doing it, worth it though.
