Brazilian knickers - do I haave the wrong sort of bottom?

I have just bought a whole bunch of these at a bargain prize, and thank goodness for that because they are unbelievably uncomfortable. The lace at the back behaves like a thong, except it is not just a thin strip of fabric, it's a sizeable piece of lace wedged all the way in, and then the top back of the knickers ride all the way up my waist. How exactly are they supposed to fit? www.marksandspencer.com/2-pack-light-tummy-control-assorted-brazilian-knickers/p/p22334548

It's not you, it's them. Reduced from £14 to £1.99 for a good reason, I'd say.

EhricLovesTheBhrothers · 16/04/2015 19:52

I suspect only brazilians can get away with these pants and even then it's iffy. I don't get them. I bet the models have to keep perfectly still in shoots to stop them getting wedged up their bums.

BloggersNetwork · 16/04/2015 19:54

But they have some good reviews, i don't get it

There are loads of knicker styles I can't wear, anything wide and low cut at the waist or with anything less than full arse cover rides up my crack or down under my belly but there must be a body shape that suits them. Maybe narrow hips and small bottoms?

DramaAlpaca · 16/04/2015 20:38

I gave Brazilians one try and concluded that I have the wrong shape of bottom. Hideously uncomfortable. I think they are aimed at women with the physique of an Olympic volleyball player. Definitely not me then.

KittyandTeal · 16/04/2015 20:40

I have a gigantic bum and small waist.

I love Brazilian knickers, they sit low and at the right point for me.

Maybe you need a huge bum for them to be ok :)

MrsBungle · 16/04/2015 20:42

I also have a gigantic arse and they're fine on me!

KittyandTeal · 16/04/2015 20:46

There you go bloggers, get on the chocolate and wine your bums too small :)

EhricLovesTheBhrothers · 16/04/2015 20:49

I have a huge bum!

amothersplaceisinthewrong · 16/04/2015 20:51

I wear them a lot, am a size 10 and find them comfortable.

FrugalFashionista · 16/04/2015 20:52

No idea about M&S knickers but Brazilian butts are different. When I moved there, the first thing I saw leaving the airport was a billboard advertising butt implants. If you have a very well-formed perfectly round bum, buttocks like two full moons, that's considered the ideal. You show it off wearing skintight lycra. Kitty your shape sounds like a proper bunda Wink - it's a national obsession and this pic gives you an idea what we are talking about.

bonzo77 · 16/04/2015 20:54

It's the pants. Nowt wrong with your arse, or mine. I can't wear them either. Or boy shorts for the same reason. My arse is unremarkable for size.

Micah · 16/04/2015 21:00

slightly o/t but why do they make knicker models stand in that ridiculous way?

If she was 5 and had arms I'd think she needed a wee!

MaryMotherOfCheeses · 16/04/2015 21:01

When were brazilian knickers invented then? I've just had to google them. Never heard of them before then twice in the last week.

They just look like knickers to me Confused

BloggersNetwork · 16/04/2015 21:16

Hey I also have a fat arse I'll have you all know. I am a size 10 but only 5.2" and completely pear shaped. I could even pass for brazilian if I wasn't so white! Grin

But I am going to confess something....

OP posts:
BloggersNetwork · 16/04/2015 21:18

... I did buy them in size 12 because well, that's all they had on sale but also, I felt that way they would not dig into my humps and bumps...

I wear them & like them but I think it depends on the material & style. I have some that fit tighht & are very skimpy more like a g string. I have others that are more loose & lacy. I just bought some the other day and they fit so nice I'm going to get some more. They were but 2 get one free. I'mmin Australia so can't recommend those. I do have M & S ones though that are ok. I quite like French knicker style too. I got some last year from M & S but they've stopped doing them. I wish I'd got more.

Kittykat7 · 16/04/2015 21:35

I always buy my usual size too with no problem with size. I am a size 10.

CointreauVersial · 16/04/2015 22:52

I'm never sure exactly what Brazilian knickers are - they just look a bit skimpy and uncomfortable to me.

I'm a boy short wearer - I like a bit of arse cheek coverage.

CointreauVersial · 16/04/2015 22:54

Just looked at Frugal's pic - that is NOT my arse. Grin

Frugal - my mum is brazillian so yes I have a brazillian butt. Unfortunately it has much more cellulite than 'proper' brazillian butt. Although running a step class is helping sort that :)

KittyandTeal · 17/04/2015 08:14

Yep that's what my arse looks like except much whiter and orange peel-y Grin

murphys · 17/04/2015 10:15

I have some of these. I don't live in UK but i found loads of these in a shop here that sells overruns. They were cheap as chips here too, and even have the m&s label in them. I love them, its all i wear now. And some are size 10 and some are size 12 (when i found out how comfy they are i went back and bought loads). And I've had them a while now, so I reckon M&S didn't do so well at selling these.

They don't ride up at all on me. I am quite slim but have a round butt so i think its definitely they suit your shape or they don't. But i didn't know they were called Brazilians Wink

I'm tempted to order these ones.. but the delivery charge would be more than the knickers..............
